Their Golden Years

The last time the Olympics were held in London was 1948.

The first Games after a 12-year hiatus caused by World War II. 

ALICE COACHMAN, 88 | HIGH JUMP 

Coachman (pictured above) was the first black woman to win an Olympic gold medal.

And the only female American athlete to win gold in track and field at the 1948 Games.
